We have the best students and teachers! The Spanish III class created their own Spanish card games, created rules and directions and even added the box to store the game in. Although it was not easy, they enjoyed the process and had the chance to play and evaluate the games. These will be shared with other classes this year and in the future. Thanks to Mrs. Mischler for adding these fun activities!

Hats off to the FCCLA Club members. Their little fundraiser got REALLY BIG! They were selling hand dipped chocolate strawberries. They had to wash, dry, hand-dip in chocolate, drizzle, cool and package 2400 strawberries to fill all the orders. Ms. Geiling and the students sucked it up and completed all of the orders. Nice work!

Ms. Geiling's Human Service class has been exploring Early Childhood Education and its various components. Students studied developmental milestones from infancy through age six and gained an understanding of Indiana's educational standards for kindergarten and first grade. To ensure their lessons were academically appropriate, they utilized the Kindergarten Readiness Checklist provided by Petersburg Elementary, aligning each of their five lessons with one or more key components. Through repeated practice, students experienced what it’s like to be a teacher, addressing challenges and refining their approaches along the way. After weeks of dedicated work, they traveled to Learn and Grow Preschool to teach their jungle-themed lessons to children ages three through six.

Apryl Gogel and Ariel Eck from Trilogy visited our Biomedical Sciences students on Friday to discuss an incredible new partnership between Amber Manor and Pike Central! This collaboration will provide CNA training (and more), giving students real-world healthcare experience before graduation. With great interest from our students, this program is set to open doors for future healthcare professionals! She is also an active member of Winter Percussion and participates as a member of the Charger Brigade. Her determination and personal accountability allow her to be successful in and out of school.

The Spanish classes have been taking some time to practice their Spanish skills by playing some games . There were some classic games that were in Spanish, others were classic Hispanic games and others were just helping learn more about Hispanic culture. Lots of fun for all!
