Precision Machining

Congratulations to these young men from Mr. Scott's Precision Machining class on their results at the SkillsUSA Region 44 competition at Vincennes University on Saturday.

In the CNC Milling competition,  Adon LeMond placed 1st and won a $2500 scholarship. In manual machining,  Ayden Young placed 5th and Cam Case placed 3rd. Both earned  $500 scholarships. Andy Bieker placed 2nd, winning a $1000 scholarship,  and Keenen Bieker placed 1st, winning a $2500 scholarship. All advance to the State competition in Indianapolis in April. Other schools competing from Region 4 included Princeton, Southern Indiana Career and Tech Center, and Terre Haute.

Skills were assessed on developing tool paths from a solid model, manual lathe, milling and surface grinding exercises, precision measurement, and written theory tests.
