Membership
in the National Honor Society is one of the highest honors that can be
awarded to a high school Junior or Senior. The National Honor Society
has worked hard to bring the accomplishments of outstanding students to
the attention of parents, teachers, peers, and the community. Chapters
across the nation strive to give practical meaning to the Society’s
goals of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Members
of NHS help coordinate a Thanksgiving meal donation where 60 Pike County
families receive a full meal, donate toys to underprivileged elementary
students, visit residents at the Golden Living Center and serve the
community through various other projects.
To be eligible for membership, a student must maintain a 3.5 GPA and have record of at least 10 community service hours.
Student
Information Activity Packets will be shared with those students who are
academically eligible at the beginning of each school year. The packet
must be completed online, printed for signatures, and submitted to the
adviser by the due date. Late applications are not accepted.
