Culinary Arts Team places 2nd at State

The Pike Central FACS Culinary Arts team placed 2nd at the recent FCCLA State Convention at Muncie, Indiana.  The team of Sarah Brock, Storm Weisling, Alexis Englert, Charlotte Dudenhoeffer and MaKayla Thorne competed against 26 other teams around the state.  The team was competing against a lot of schools that have a 3 hour Culinary Arts programs in their school. 

The team competed in the Culinary Arts division which judges the students for their ability to work as members of a team to produce a quality meal using industrial culinary arts/food service techniques and equipment.  Teams of participants must develop a plan for the time allotted, prepare menu items given to them at the time of the event, and present their prepared items to the evaluators.
